David is a Chicago-born artist and educator. He’s the founder of the theater tent show, South Side Ignoramus Quartet (SIQ), which provides real south side Chicago-style comedy sketch shows inside a tent in his parent’s backyard. He follows the philosophy that art should be accessible to all, not just those who can afford it and believes in creating spaces that foster marginalized artists of color. David has had extensive teaching experience with Free Street Theater, ElevArte Community Studio, Yollocalli Arts Reach, has run a number of in-school and after-school programs in Chicago Public School elementary and high schools throughout the southwest side of Chicago. He’s also a proud company member of Barrel of Monkeys where he also teaches creative writing and collaboratively adapts student’s stories and performs them in schools for students all over city.
